Keep pictures, tables and layout in Word

Understand the default layout export and how to correct difficult page areas.

What Word layout preserves

  • Editable text at its detected page positions.
  • Detected font styling, including size and emphasis.
  • Local pictures and illustrations as image objects.
  • Regular table grids as real editable Word cells.

Check source and result together

Compare the layout preview with the original before exporting. Check picture boundaries, table rows and columns, headings and reading order. After export, open the DOCX in your word processor and review its actual pages.

Correct a picture region

If an illustration is missed or its boundary needs adjustment, mark the picture area in the source. The selected region is retained with the document layout.

Rebuild a table area

Automatic detection works with regular grids. Borderless tables may remain positioned text; use Mark table to rebuild their cells. Rebuild other table regions when borders are unclear or cells have been grouped incorrectly, then check each label and value before exporting again.

Complex originals still need review

Merged cells, nested tables, unusual fonts, dense columns, handwriting and equations can need additional work. Font matching and OCR are estimates; an exact reproduction of every original is not guaranteed.

DOCX or TXT?

Use DOCX for editable text, picture objects, table cells and page layout. TXT contains only the wording and does not keep images or table formatting.
